Script Functionality Overview

A concise guide to how this script functions within FiveM, detailing its role in the game's ecosystem and player experience.

RESPECT AND SELLING SKILL

Respect

What Respect Unlocks

The Respect system is a pivotal element in our script, influencing how players interact within the game's ecosystem. Earning Respect is key to unlocking significant gameplay features:

  • Access to Informants (Moles): Higher Respect levels open the door to more knowledgeable and useful informants, enhancing the player's ability to navigate the game's challenges.

  • Attracting Wholesale Clients: As Respect increases, players gain the attention of clients interested in wholesale transactions. This aspect introduces more complex and rewarding wholesale deals, broadening the scope of gameplay.

Earning and Losing Respect

  • Gaining Respect: Players earn Respect through successful drug sales in both retail and wholesale scenarios. Each successful transaction boosts their Respect level, marking their progress and reputation in the game world.

  • Losing Respect: Respect can be lost during wholesale transactions, particularly when they go angry. For example, if a wholesale deal leads to a confrontation or shootout with a client, players will lose Respect. This loss reflects the risks involved in larger, more complex transactions and adds a layer of strategy to the game.

Strategic Play and Progression

This system encourages strategic thinking, as players must balance the lucrative rewards of wholesale deals against the potential risks of losing Respect. The Respect system not only tracks a player’s success but also shapes their journey, dictating the pace at which new opportunities and challenges are presented.

Selling Skill

Earning Selling Skill Points

The Selling Skill system in our script rewards players for their negotiation prowess and strategic pricing during drug transactions.

  • Successful Negotiations: Players earn Selling Skill points with every successful negotiation.

  • Increasing Prices: If a player raises the price, for example, to 1.5 times the standard rate, and the negotiation succeeds, they gain additional points proportionate to the increase (1.5 times the standard points). This mechanism rewards risk-taking and strategic sales tactics.

Losing Selling Skill Points

  • Failed Negotiations: However, there's a catch. If a negotiation at a higher price fails, players will lose points. This loss reflects the risks associated with pushing for higher prices and adds depth to the negotiation process.

Benefits and Strategic Advantages

  • Improved Success Rates: As players accumulate Selling Skill points and reach certain thresholds set in the config, their chances of successful price increases improve significantly. For instance, a player who initially had a 60% success rate at higher prices might see their odds rise to 80% upon reaching a specific skill level.

  • Configurable Thresholds: The skill thresholds and corresponding success rates are configurable, allowing server administrators to tailor the difficulty and progression rate.

Impact on Gameplay

This system encourages players to engage in smart negotiation tactics, balancing the potential rewards of higher prices against the risk of losing points. As players become more skilled, they unlock new levels of gameplay, experiencing more challenging and rewarding transactions.

RETAIL SELLING

Initiating Retail Sale

  • Starting the Sale: When players have drugs in their inventory and initiate a retail sale, a user interface (UI) with a dialogue system activates. Here, players engage in a conversation with the NPC client, detailing what they have to offer and at what price.

Negotiation and Price Setting

  • Standard Price: In the script's configuration, each drug has a standard price, which is the rate at which NPCs will agree to buy the drug with a 100% success rate.

  • Price Adjustments: Players can adjust this price:

    • Lowering the Price: Reducing the price to a minimum (e.g., to 1) still guarantees a 100% success rate.

    • Raising the Price: Increasing the price reduces the chance of a successful sale. The success rate decreases as the price goes up, with a maximum limit of doubling the price (x2). At this maximum, the likelihood of a successful sale is very low, unless the player has a high Selling Skill.

Selling Skill Influence

  • Threshold Achievement for Better Rates: The influence of Selling Skill in retail transactions is based on reaching specific thresholds. Once players achieve a certain level of Selling Skill, as defined in the script's configuration, their ability to negotiate higher prices with better success rates improves significantly.

  • Enhanced Negotiation Power: For example, upon reaching a predetermined Selling Skill level, players might be able to successfully sell drugs at double the standard price, overcoming the typical low success rate associated with such high price points. This milestone achievement in Selling Skill allows for more ambitious and profitable negotiations.

Dynamic Interaction

  • Realistic Trading Experience: This retail selling system offers a dynamic and realistic trading experience. Players must strategically decide how to price their drugs, balancing the desire for higher profits against the risk of losing a sale.

WHOLESALE

Receiving Offers via the Trap Phone

  • Respect Thresholds for Offers: Players start receiving wholesale offers on their 'trap phone' after reaching a specified level of Respect set in the script's configuration. These offers, arriving at random intervals (also configurable), ask for various drugs listed in the config, including those not currently in the player's inventory.

  • Responding to Requests: Players must reply with the amount of drug they have. Providing too little or too much can lead to the client considering the response a joke, ending the conversation.

Pricing in Wholesale

  • Negotiating Prices: Unlike retail, the standard 100% success rate in price negotiation occurs at half the average price, acknowledging the wholesale of the transaction. The success rate remains 100% for any price set at or below this rate.

  • Selling Skill Benefits: As with retail, achieving certain Selling Skill levels improves the odds of successfully negotiating higher prices in wholesale transactions.

Completing Transactions

  • Available Locations: After agreeing on a price, players are prompted to call the client. If a designated wholesale location is available (i.e., not occupied by another player's mission), the transaction proceeds. If not, the client may back out.

  • Transaction Scenarios:

    • Successful Exchange: Upon reaching the location with the agreed amount of drugs, players complete the exchange. Failure to have the drugs leads to a shootout, a drastic drop in Respect, and potential future penalties in wholesale opportunities.

    • Hostile Scenario: Players can choose to attack the client immediately, which results in a significant loss of Respect. Though it allows looting the client's intended payment, this aggressive approach questions the profitability against the loss of Respect.

Impact on Gameplay

This wholesale system introduces a complex layer of strategy to the game. Players must navigate the nuances of negotiation, manage risks, and make critical decisions that can have lasting consequences on their Respect and overall progression.

MOLES (INFORMATORS)

Types of Informants and Access

  • Variety of Informants: The script features three types of informants - Hobos, Criminals, and Professionals. Each category offers varying levels of insight and coverage.

  • Respect Requirements: To subscribe to an informant's services, players need to achieve a certain level of Respect. Higher-level informants require more Respect to unlock.

Subscription Benefits

  • Real-Time Alerts: Subscribing to an informant grants players SMS alerts on their 'trap phone'. These alerts notify the player whenever a police officer enters the informant's area of surveillance.

  • Observation Area: The quality of the informant determines the size of their observation area. Professional informants cover larger areas, providing more extensive intel.

  • Map Blips: When a police officer is spotted in the surveillance area, the script generates a temporary blip on the map showing the officer's last known location. This blip is a one-time alert and does not continuously track the officer, adding a realistic and challenging element to police evasion.

Additional Services from Informants

  • Selling Trap Phones: Informants also sell 'trap phones', which are essential for receiving their alerts.

  • Checking Subscriptions: Through the OG App on the trap phone, players can check their active subscriptions with various informants and their expiration dates.

Strategic Gameplay and Police Interaction

This informant system adds a strategic layer to the game, allowing players to make informed decisions, especially in avoiding police encounters. The choice of informant and the decision to subscribe to their services significantly influence gameplay, adding depth to the players' experience in navigating the game world.

TRAP PHONE

Acquiring the Trap Phone

  • Source: Players can purchase the trap phone from informants (moles) at a set price.

  • Key to Advanced Features: This phone is a crucial tool for accessing advanced features of the script, enhancing the player's capabilities and information network.

Applications on the Trap Phone

  • Messages App: This application receives alerts from informants and wholesale offers, which become available once players reach a certain Respect threshold.

  • OG App: A utility to track the player's progress:

    • Respect and Selling Skill: Displays the current levels of Respect and Selling Skill, allowing players to monitor their advancement and strategize accordingly.

    • Informant Subscription Details: Additionally, the app provides a comprehensive overview of active subscriptions.

  • Settings App: Provides customization options for the trap phone:

    • Alert Toggles: Players can enable or disable alert notifications.

    • Notification Sounds: Option to turn on or off notification sounds, providing a personalized user experience.

Integration in Gameplay

The trap phone is a pivotal element in the script, acting as a bridge between the player and the game's dynamic systems. It enables real-time information flow, critical for making strategic decisions, especially in high-risk activities like wholesale transactions and evading law enforcement.
